The scientific name for vitamin B5 is pantothenic acid and whilst our body can’t make it (which is part of the definition of being a vitamin), we obtain it from bacteria living in our digestive system which can produce it, as long as our systems are running smoothly.
Pantothenic acid plays a part in the processes that release energy from food, and contributes to normal mental performance. It also contributes to the normal synthesis of our natural steroid hormones and nerve chemicals called neurotransmitters.
This is a high strength pantothenic acid supplement with each tablet providing 500mg. Due to its strength we have made the tablets time release so that they gradually release the pantothenic acid over a period of 6 to 8 hours after swallowing. This more closely matches the way a nutrient is released from food during digestion.
